The Asus ROG Strix G16 offer powerful performance and impressive build quality for its price. Effortlessly handles resources-intensive games such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or Civilization 6 on ultra with minimal stuttering. However, it lacks a number pad and IR camera for facial recognition or a fingerprint scanner, so you are aware if any of those features are important to you. Great price, performance and build quality:
Starting Price: $1999
A more budget oriented option that still max outs Civilization without problems. One of the few laptop models for this price that offer a metal cover, keeping up with the build quality of higher budgets. SSD and RAM can be upgraded. It has a MUX switch (use it to change graphics to integrated in order to waste less battery or have less heating if you're playing on the bed), but it requires restarting the computer. Battery life is decent (up to 6 hours of video/web browsing, much less while playing civilization). Poor webcam, who needs that anyways.
Starting Price: $1329
I know, the lenovo legion has appeared a lot on this article, but not without reason. The Lenovo Legion won awards for its cooling design that has only improved over the years, allowing even cheaper laptops to push their graphics cards beyond the expected limit for the form factor. The Lenovo Legion 5 is no exception, an excellent 'budget' laptop, although a bit on the heavy side (keep in mind it has a 17.3 inch screen), it still looks professional, doesn't heat and delivers top performance.
Starting Price: $999
Entering a tighter budget, the ASUS TUF F15 delivers a lower, but sturdy build quality, while being lightweight and highly portable. It does perform well on Civilization at ultra quality. Upgradability is possible thanks to a free ram slot (you can put an 8GB stick to match the one it has from the factory). It also has a free spot for a SSD. However, be aware that maintenance might have some difficulties as screws are different size and the battery is non-removable. It is also worth noting that the laptop has thunderbolt 4, so it is possible to pair it with an external graphics card.
