Pineapple on Pizza game review: The alternative endings

If you've ever wondered what it feels like to eat pineapple on pizza, Majorariatto's new game, Pineapple on Pizza, offers a unique experience. Despite never having tried the controversial topping himself, the developer has created a game that explores the idea in a creative and twisted way.

If you haven't already played Pineapple on Pizza, I would highly recommend giving it a try before reading this article. The game offers a unique experience that's best experienced firsthand. However, if you've already played the game and want to learn about the curiosities you might have missed or explore the multiple alternative endings, then keep reading.

Pineapple on Pizza is a short game by Majorariatto that has a pleasant environment and multiple curiosities. Despite never having tried the controversial topping himself, the developer has created a unique experience that explores the idea in a creative and twisted way. The game is short, well-optimized, and offers multiple alternative endings that keep players engaged.

At first glance, Pineapple on Pizza appears to be a short and well-optimized museum experience on an island full of people dancing. The environment is wholesome and amusing, but the game's description on Steam hints at a darker twist.

Spoiler alert: After exploring the island, players enter the volcano, which erupts and spews lava that engulfs the people and trees in its path. The music becomes louder and more epic as the game takes a twisted turn, and no matter what you do, everyone on the island dies.

The game ends with a zoom-out shot showing the island transformed into a pineapple pizza, with the message that pineapple pizza is bad.

Despite the grim ending, players are compelled to explore the game's various alternative endings in hopes of finding a way to survive. As of now, none of the endings allow you to live.

PineApple on Pizza's alternative endings:

Alternative ending: Running straight to the water

Players can try to run straight to the water or observe as corn and lettuce explodes into popcorn.

Alternative ending: If I stand on the rock I might survive

Players can climb a rock in hopes of avoiding the lava, it sound like a pretty good plan as islanders are going it as well. You think magma might not rise to this heights, therefore there is a slight chance of survinving. However you notice NPCs are making a human stair to reach the bottom and scape as they know lava is going to devour the rock.

Their plan is good, the end of the rock is near the shore and they might scape. Neverming, they are dead. Props to AlvaMayo for the very well animated human stairs.

Altenative ending: The Canoes!

As I started playing for the first time I noticed there are some Canoes, I will probably be able to survive if I use those. The islanders running straight to the canoes confirm my idea

NPC start using the canoes, I just watch as they do all the work:

Life is good, I will finally survive this pineapple on pizza stuff. Nevermind, the volcano sent a huge rock flying my way, we all drown.

PineApple on Pizza's finald thoughts and score

Despite the lack of a happy ending, Pineapple on Pizza is a very good short game with a twisted plot. Majorariatto's disdain for pineapple pizza is evident, despite never having tried it himself. The game offers a lot of replayability, and even after taking an hour to explore various actions, players may not discover a good ending.

Overall, I would give this game a 9 out of 10 rating for its creative twist and enjoyable gameplay. The only downside is that the author has stated that he didn't have enough time to fix some issues after launching.
