There are over 200 private servers ranging from 0 to 5k. Surely some of those servers that currently have fewer population numbers will one day grow and are going to be worth mentioning, but here we are going to limit ourselves to talk about estable servers with decent population numbers.

It's community and the staff are very active, there is a lot of work behind the server and a lot of care for the players. The creator, Nova, is very hands-on when it comes to his server and you can notice his passion for the game.

Dark-RO Rebirth is a Star Wars themed server based on the 2005 version. It is heavily modified and has over 4000 players connected at all times. Max level is 255, builds consist almost solely of custom items and it is a high rates, but don't get confused by those numbers, getting to the end-game is still fairly difficult.

DreamerRO is a high rates max level 500/120 with 800+ players online and very active pvp and duel arenas. The community has a lot of time (since 2008) and therefore you will find a lot of guides and material to advance in your journey.

As you can see Ragnarok online is definitely not dead, but unless there are changes in the good direction Ragnarok Online for PC will suffer and probably die some day.
